Frequently Asked Questions:

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a gentle, safe, and effective treatment technique. For millions of people, it relieves pain and illness, prevents disease, and preserves good health. It complements other treatments, and can reduce adverse side effects and complications sometimes associated with pharmaceuticals, surgery, or other invasive procedures. It is gentle enough for pregnant women and children, yet effective enough to treat serious conditions.

Acupuncture is performed with single-use, disposable, hair-thin, Japanese style needles. Most people feel no pain, only a minimal sensation upon insertion. People typically experience feelings of relaxation and well-being from the treatment.

Non-Needle Methods Employed

Multiple methods provide a synergistic effect to maximize the improvement of your health and restoration of your well-being. Non-needle methods of treatment include Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupressure, Cupping, Moxibustion, Micro-current, Emotional Freedom Technique, Qi Gong, Nutritional Counseling, and self-care techniques.

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Over 3000 years old, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a scientific, holistic system of medical diagnosis and treatment. TCM views good health as a harmonious balance within body and mind. This balance is maintained by the smooth circulation of energy (Qi) throughout the body along pathways called meridians. Any disruption to this energy flow causes an imbalance manifesting as illness or pain.

Acupuncture restores the smooth flow of energy in your body by stimulating points along meridians. The TCM diagnosis determines the point selection. During a treatment, a subtle series of circulatory, hormonal, neural, lymphatic, and immunological responses occur. Your body's internal regulating systems become activated to promote self-healing.

About Herbal Medicine

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine assists the body in various ways when acupuncture alone cannot due to unhealthy lifestyle or deeply chronic poor health. By creating a formula (a blend of herbs) specifically for you, we can address the many factors that are preventing you from experiencing optimal health.
